November

At Foliotek, we work hard to provide the best assessment and portfolio software possible.  To do that, we make changes every week.  Sometimes we fix things that don't work, other times we release new features to improve your experience.  Below you will find a description of the changes we have made this month.

 

Foliotek offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 23rd and 24th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

 

11.20.2017

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Nothing new this week.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • The 'My Assessments' page wasn't loading properlyfor some Presentation users.
  • We corrected some issues with the Project reflections page.
  • Scoring guides were not being displayed properly when administrators tried to print them.
  • There were a few users who were unable to add text to a Project page, so we made an improvement to the functionality of the Project text pages.

What we're working on

Watch for these items to be released in the next few weeks:

  • Unfortunately, there isn't anything close enough to mention at this time.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Students are no longer required to select an end date for private portfolio and project shares.  If the end date is not selected, the shared portfolio or project will be available for viewing until the user's account expires.

Portfolio Share End Date

  • All videos uploaded into Foliotek are now encoded as MP4 videos which should improve their performance in all browsers.
  • Embedded objects in select areas of Foliotek are now re-sizeable to allow the user to better display the object.
  • Organizations awarding badges in Foliotek can now upload and use their own images when creating new badges or editing existing badges.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • Removed evaluations were being included in some Evaluation Reports.
  • The text of the email for private portfolio and project shares was adjusted to improve the clarity of when the Access Code should be used.
  • Navigation icons in the top black bar of the Presentation dashboard would not be highlighted at times.
  • Editing the ID page using the Edge browser was difficult in some places.
  • External evaluators were unable to view forms completed by the student.
  • The entire scoring box was not clickable in evaluations that had a lot of text for the expectation that was being scored.
  • The draft version of portfolios was not displaying videos that had been added.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Sorry, nothing new this week...

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • We made some adjustments to the way Foliotek handles requests to reset passwords.
  • If a user attempted to create a project from the ID page, the project could not be saved and used in the ID page.
  • Some users were having difficulty resizing the site title text in a portfolio through the Design Tab.
  • We made some improvements to the formatting of Foliotek Presentation on iPads and iPhones.
  • When uploading multiple files, there were some places where uploading a second file, before the first file had finished uploading, would cause the first file to be duplicated.

What we're working on

Watch for these items to be released in the next few weeks:

  • We are upgrading the way Foliotek handles videos.  It's another one of those "behind the scenes" things.  You won't really notice a difference, but things will be more efficient.
  • We are improving the handling of embedded websites in project templates and other areas of Foliotek.
