March

At Foliotek, we try hard to provide the best assessment and portfolio software possible.  To do that, we make changes every week.  Sometimes we fix things that don't work, other times we release new features to improve your experience.  Below you will find a description of the changes we have made this month.

 

3.28.2016

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • For Educational Partners that use the External Form system, it is now possible to edit the name or email for an external evaluator that may have been entered incorrectly.  Once the information has been corrected, a new email can be sent directly from that screen.
  • Changes were made to the ID Page editing options to make it more intuitive and easy.  Now you can quickly get to the styles change area using buttons on the ID Page content box.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • Some faculty members were being given basic accounts rather than the normal faculty account.  This issue has been resolved.
  • During the Project creation process when working on the ID Page, there were some screens where the 'x' to close the selection process was not working.  This has been corrected.
  • When building a Project based on a community template, the created date was being incorrectly set priror to saving the project.  It now sets the current date upon creation, not saving.
  • Background images on the ID Page could break if the user made the image larger.  This was caused mainly from uploading extremely large images.  ID Page background images are now limited to 3200 x 3200 pixels and a 2 MB file size.
  • An invalid resource error would be thrown if a user attempted to use the public URL for a portfolio as an artifact in a project.  This issue is fixed.

What we're working on

Watch for these items to be released in the next few weeks:

  • Soon users will be able to add their resume as an item on their ID Page.  It is displayed as a screenshot of the resume and when clicked it opens the document for viewing.  Check it out!
  • We are working on a new system to match our amazing Foliotek users with potential employers.  This system will allow employers to search for users based on key words or other data used in portfolios and projects.  How about a sneak peak at the student data collection area?

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • For those Faculty members who score evalautions in Foliotek Presentation, there is now an Evaluation Report in the Reports area.  This report displays results for evaluations completed on ePortfolios, ePortfolio pages, and Projects.  Contact our support team if you have questions about this new report.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • If a user had multiple pages of videos inside a Project, it was possible to play more than one video at the same time.  It is now limited to one at a time.  When the user clicks to a new page, the current video is stopped.
  • During the Project creation process, there were some screens where the 'x' to close the selection process was not working.  This has been corrected.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • Public URLs for sharing projects were not being shown in the modal where users would get them.  These URLs will now be displayed.
  • Some users were not being added to the organization-wide community upon creation of their accounts.  Those with the issue have been corrected and a fix is in place to prevent it in the future.
  • Faculty weren't able to open documents when scoring an evaluation.  This has been corrected.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • Some really long forms were timing out when a report was being produced for them.  This error has been corrected.
  • If a cover image was uploaded for a Project, the image was not being blurred properly when a user viewed their entire project list.  These uploaded images will now be blurred at the proper time.
  • Some ID pages were not loading properly.  The issue was identified and fixed.
  • When using the Edge browser, some buttons inside the Project editor were not being given the proper icon.  The icons have been returned to normal.
  • If a user was registering for Foliotek through Blackboard, the Blackboard background was showing through the registration pages, which could be distracting.  The correct, white background will now be shown.
  • Some users were getting an error message when trying to access their communities, this problem has been resolved.
  • There were some minor grammatical adjustments made on the screens where a faculty member declines a Portfolio-Integrated Evaluation.
  • Portfolio-Integrated Evaluation revisions that were submitted from the Evaluations area of a student account were being mishandled by the system.  Proper placement of these evaluations has been restored.
