Scoring Guides
How can I add units based on portfolio sections?
If you are adding units to an existing Scoring Guide, then you will need to first click on Scoring Guides from within the Assessment menu. Then, click on the name of the Scoring Guide you wish to add to.
Follow these steps:
- Click on +Add Scoring Guide Units
- Click on the circle next to Score Portfolio Sections(s) and click on Next
- Click on the checkboxes next to the sections you wish to create Units for and click on Next
- Use the List box to select an existing set of performance levels and click on Next OR
- Click on the circle next to Create new performance levels
- IF you chose to create your own performance levels type Level 1 in the appropriate textbox and click on +Add another to add another performance level then type in Level 2; repeat this process as many times as necessary to create all of your performance levels
- Type in the evidences for each performance level in the appropriate textboxes (Note: if your evidences are the same for all of the Units you are adding, you can click on Copy to all to use the same evidences for the performance levels on every Unit)
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Next
- Select how performance levels and points will be chosen for each Section by clicking on the circle next to the appropriate statement
- IF you chose, "Evaluators choose levels with radio buttons, no points are assigned," SKIP to step 15 after clicking on Next
- IF you chose, "Evaluators choose levels with radio buttons, points automatically assigned by level click on Next then define the point values for each Performance level for each Unit (Note: You can use the Copy to all link if your point values are the same for all Units) and click on Next
- IF you chose, "Evaluators enter points into a textbox, levels assigned automatically) click on Next and then enter the point range for each performance level for each Unit (Note: You can use the Copy to all link if your point values are the same for all Units) and click on Next
- IF you chose, "Points are a sum of expectation scores," Click on next then type in the point range for each performance level for each Unit (Note: You can use the Copy to all link if your point values are the same for all Units), click on Next
- IF you chose "Points are a sum of expectation scores," Type in the Minimum and Maximum point level for each performance level and click on Next; you will then be prompted to add your expectations (click on +Add another as many times as necessary), click on Next when you have completed this process and SKIP to step 17
- IF you did NOT choose, "Points are a sum of expectation scores," (any of other 3 options chosen) OR you skipped to here from step 11 then click on the circle which indicates what Expectations you would like to include with the Standards (IF you choose not to include Expectations, then you are done with the Unit adding process)
- IF you chose to, "include new Expectations," then type in the Expectations for each Unit and click on Next
- Select the performance levels for your expectations using the list box OR click on the circle next to Create new performance levels, click on Next then type them in
- Type in the evidences for each expectation's performance levels (Note: use Copy to all link if the Evidences are the same for all expectations) and click on Next
- Click on the circle next to the appropriate statement for how performance levels and points will be chosen for each expectation (IF you choose not to assign points, you are done with the Unit adding process)
- IF you chose, "Evaluators choose levels with radio buttons, points automatically assigned by level," click on Next then define the point value for each Performance level for each Expectation for each Unit(Use Copy to all link if they are the same for all Expectations), scroll to the bottom and click on Finish
- IF you chose "Evaluators enter points into a text box, levels assigned automatically," click on Next and define the point ranges for each Expectation for each Unit (Use copy to all link if the ranges are the same for each expectation for each Unit), scroll to the bottom and click on Finish
